Kingsville Tiger Family,
I hope all can understand how difficult some school cancellation decisions are. With the temperatures rising above freezing yesterday causing much of the precipitation on our roads to melt, the decision was made anxiously to get our kids back in school. This morning our buses struggled a great deal navigating some of our rural roads. Fortunately it was early enough into the routes that not very many students had been picked up yet before the decision was made to stop the routes, and/or bring the buses back to school. Students that had already been picked up at that time were brought to school by different means.
I am extremely pleased, and relieved, to announce that students and staff have made it to school safely today without incident. Some families have chosen to keep their child at home due to road conditions.
If your student is normally a morning bus rider and was not picked up today, or if you were not able to bring them to school yourself this morning their absence will be excused today, January 23rd 2024.
Even though the temperature is forecast to continue to rise this afternoon causing roads to continue to melt, we have decided to not run any of our afternoon bus routes today. Families, we understand that this could cause inconvenience or difficulties in getting your child home today, but for at least the remainder of the day today we cannot risk putting our buses back on some of our roads. All 3 of our bus routes are rural routes. We will also not be sending a bus to the Career Center this afternoon.
If your child will be picked up from school today by someone other than their normal pick up person please call us as soon as possible to let us know, and we will communicate that with your child.
Hopefully the road conditions in our rural areas will be much improved by tomorrow morning. However, if the bus routes are not improved enough to safely run as normal we will not run our buses tomorrow morning. If this is the case we will announce that before 6:00am. And if this is the case, families will have the option to keep bus riders at home tomorrow, January 24th and complete work from home as an AMI Day. For other students that are able to make it safely to school, it will be a “normal” day of school.
We very much appreciate your understanding and patience so far this semester. I do apologize for any inconvenience, and for the worry caused by this morning.
Jay Fleeman, Superintendent

If you are getting the attached message from our Website app, please update it to the newest version. The Apptegy Team thinks that is why people are getting this message.

Good morning Kingsville Tiger Family,
We are fortunate to have been able to reschedule each of the high school basketball games missed from the recent weather closures. We also have some events coming up at home games that we would like to get the word out about. Of course these are still subject to change due to inclement weather. If we have any other changes due to weather we will get those out as soon as possible.
Have a great day!

We are looking forward to celebrating HOMECOMING next week. Dress up day information coming soon!

We will have our first Conscious Discipline group meeting Thursday at 5:30 in the library. We will continue to meet monthly (but if you miss one, we can get you caught up). We will have activities for your kids to do while you are able to talk with other parents. These meetings are geared towards parents of kids age birth through 2nd grade.
Conscious Discipline helps parents rethink discipline as an opportunity to teach missing skills rather than thinking of discipline as punishment. Parents can use the tools to gain control of their own emotions which helps them regulate their child's emotions. The skills that Conscious Discipline teaches will ensure that the child stays connected to the parent as the parent teaches and guides the child.

Social Media Safety Tips for Kids

There will be no softball open gym this week on the 17th or 18th. Stay warm!

Just a reminder that Homecoming shirt order forms are due when we return to school.

The Parents as Teachers group connection for Tuesday night (January 16th) is canceled. We will not reschedule again in January, but will do Music and Movement at our February event.
