We received this information regarding Organized Flag Football for Kids with Special Needs:
My name is Shannon Milbourn and I am the director of the Kansas City Metro Challenger Football league. I have been working hard to get the word out there to promote our league. It is an organized flag football league for boys and girls ages 5 and up who have special needs. We play in the fall and spring with open enrollment throughout the year. We welcome players from all over the Kansas City Metro area and we will accommodate anyone who wants to play. There is no fee to play or equipment to buy. As long as the parents are willing to travel to the Heritage Park Football Complex, we will give them a wonderful and safe place to play football.

If there are children or individuals with special needs in your school, I encourage you to pass on this information. I have included an official league flyer that you are free to pass onto the parents. We have a DVD available that showcases the kids participating in our games. Please join us here as we introduce our middle school and high school basketball teams, high school cheerleaders, and middle school and high school wrestlers. Reminder that tonight is the boys high school basketball jamboree beginning at 5:30pm. The order of events will be: Kingsville vs. KC Lutheran, Holden vs. KC Lutheran (approx. 6:15), and Holden vs. Kingsville (approx. 7:00). Their is no entry fee and we will have limited concessions until 6:30. We hope to see you soon!

Our preschoolers expressed their gratitude for the service of a local veteran, Mr. Darin Savage, Ms. Anita’s dad in recognition of this Veterans Day. We discussed the attributes (colors & shapes) of the US flag. We recited the Pledge of Allegiance while we colored pictures for Mr. Savage. We are so thankful for our freedom.
