2nd grade ended our pumpkin investigations by doing a taste test experiment! From pumpkin seeds, to puree, to bread and then pumpkin pie! Some of us really enjoyed trying these, and some not so much!

Junior High Student Council Presents: A Night in Paris! 🗼
The Junior High Student Council invites you to a Night in Paris on November 13! Enjoy a live DJ, dance under the city lights, and enjoy snacks, drinks, and a fun evening with friends.
The crowning will begin immediately after the basketball games, followed by a two-hour dance.
Admission is $5, and all 7th- and 8th-grade students and approved guests are welcome.

Exciting things are growing in our greenhouse! 🌿 We are celebrating our first harvest of White Icicle Radishes! 🤍
From planting tiny seeds to watching them grow and finally harvesting the results, our students are experiencing the rewards of patience, responsibility, and hard work!
We can't wait to see what grows next!

Kingsville Tiger Family,
Coming soon you will begin hearing more about a new A-F school rating system for all public schools across Missouri. I wanted you to get some information about this directly from me before the ratings are released.
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is developing this new system following an executive order signed by Governor Mike Kehoe earlier this year. The initial ratings are part of a pilot program, meaning the system is still being developed and may very likely change. These ratings will be based on academic data from the 2024-2025 school year.
While I completely support accountability and transparency, I do have concerns about how quickly this system has been rolled out and how the results are going to be interpreted. Missouri schools are already evaluated through the Annual Performance Report (APR) and Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP 6). Adding another rating system, especially one that is still being refined, has the potential to create more confusion than clarity.
One of my bigger concerns is how a single letter grade cannot effectively tell the whole story of a school district. It doesn’t capture what happens here every day, and everything that has been built by our staff, our students, and our community. Nor the progress that we have made, or the opportunities we work to provide.
With that being said, we know that we have areas to improve. Particularly in academic achievement. We recognize those challenges, and are not interested in making excuses. In fact, we have spent considerable time creating, implementing, and revising our Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP) to guide this work. This plan focuses on 6 main priorities; Teaching and Learning, Safety and Security, Climate and Culture, Quality Staff, Leadership and Operations, and Student Supports and Experiences. That work started long before the A-F system was introduced, and it will continue regardless of what letter grade we receive. When you combine those priorities with the mission of our district - Prepare all students to succeed, you can understand our concern of how to effectively measure that with one letter grade.
As the state releases more information we will continue to share what we learn about this pilot program and what it means, and doesn't mean. Again, we know that we have a lot of work to do as a school district. But we also have a lot to be proud of. At the end of the day our greatest accountability is to the students, families, and community that we serve - not one letter grade.
Lastly, I want to thank you for your continued support and partnership with your school. We know that we are fortunate to have a community that cares so much about its kids and school, and I look forward to continuing to meet whatever challenges come our way head on.
