We will have our first Conscious Discipline group meeting Thursday at 5:30 in the library. We will continue to meet monthly (but if you miss one, we can get you caught up). We will have activities for your kids to do while you are able to talk with other parents. These meetings are geared towards parents of kids age birth through 2nd grade.
Conscious Discipline helps parents rethink discipline as an opportunity to teach missing skills rather than thinking of discipline as punishment. Parents can use the tools to gain control of their own emotions which helps them regulate their child's emotions. The skills that Conscious Discipline teaches will ensure that the child stays connected to the parent as the parent teaches and guides the child.

Katy Trail Dental RV: *FORM COMING HOME SOON*

This year The Katy Trail Dental RV will be coming to Kingsville School District on February 26- 29th.
Services Katy Trail Dental RV offers:
- Preventive dental services such as cleanings, sealants, and oral health education
- Restorative dental services such as fillings, extractions, and root canals
Please check the box below and sign if you want your child to have these services. I will send home a consent form and packet with them that MUST be turned in NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 12TH. Please send this “yes” sheet with your student as soon as possible once you’ve signed it.

The Conscious Discipline: Parent Education Series meeting scheduled for Thursday January 11th will be rescheduled for Thursday January 18th at 5:30 pm.
Though most of the major roads in the district have been cleared, we have many back roads that our buses travel which are still hazardous. Safety remains our priority, therefore, there will be NO SCHOOL on Thursday January 11th for the Kingsville R-1 School District.
The Student Council meeting scheduled for Thursday January 11th is canceled.

Softball pre-season open gyms are starting soon! Below are the dates, all days will be from 6:30am- 7:30am.
January: 10th and 11th, 17th and 18th, 23rd and 24th, and the 30th.
February: 1st, 7th and 8th, and 12th and 14th.

Just a few reminders as we get back into the swing of things for 2nd semester:
Students need to arrive before 7:50 in order to not be marked as tardy or late. Breakfast is served at 7:30 and first hour classes begin at 7:50.
Please have your students check the lost and found for missing items. It’s always helpful to have names on lunchboxes, jackets, etc.
Elementary students will go out for recess whenever possible. Make sure that students have coats, gloves, and hats in order to stay warm.
Please check your child’s lunch account for sufficient funds.
We are happy to welcome lunch visitors with a 24 hour advance notice to the front office per the student/parent handbook.
The school’s administrative team is always available to hear about your concerns. Please feel free to contact Mr. Fleeman, Ms. Wallace, or Mrs. Schoenherr at any time.
January 25th is HOMECOMING!
It's gameday! The Tigers take on Wellington-Napoleon tonight at 5:00pm starting with 2 quarters of JV boys. Tonight is also the Senior Smorgasbord beginning at 5! In addition to tonight's game, we will be recognizing Justin Howerton '08, as an honorary coach. Come on out for an exciting night at Sears Gymnasium, all beginning at 5:00!
Youth Basketball starts this Saturday from 9:00-11:00 for
Grades K-5, Kingsville and Strasburg students!
