February 28, 2025
Kingsville Tiger Family,
It is with a very heavy heart that I share with you that one of our 12th grade students passed away on February 27, 2025. Our hearts are with her family, her friends and classmates, faculty and staff that worked with her over the years, and with the many other lives she has impacted.
Due to the medical situation that occured yesterday there were first responders here at school at the end of day, and it was very visible. As a parent, a spouse, and a community member I fully understand how concerning that can be to see first responders at school. I hope that I can assure you that if a crisis situation were to have occurred that involved any other students we would have notified folks accordingly.
We have several counselors and mental health professionals here today to provide assistance and be available to our students and staff. If your child is in need of any assistance please let Karlie Cederquist, Rachel Wallace, Amanda Schoenherr, or I know.
As a small, close-knit community our greatest strength is each other. And with the passing of one our own I am reminded of how much we need to be able to rely on each other during times like these.
Again, my heart goes out to her family and those close to her.
Jay Fleeman

The Kingsville R-1 School District will have Snow Day #5 tomorrow, Thursday February 20th. There is a possibility of a late start for Friday February 21st, so please prepare for that. If we do a late start then buses will run two hours later than normal. Either way on Friday, please keep kids inside until you see the bus pull up. The building will still open at normal time for those that need dropped off at normal time. Otherwise please do not send kids or drop them off until 9:30 am...and that is ONLY if we have a late start. That decision will be made around 5:00 pm tomorrow. Thank you everyone for understanding and fingers crossed that we do not miss any more school this year!
