This past Saturday several high school band members attended the district solo and small ensemble contest at Grain Valley High School. They all represented our district with class. We are very proud of these students' dedication to their individual musicianship and to the band program. We would also like to thank our accompanist Mrs. Jennifer Jasper, she's incredibly talented and has donated a lot of her own time to make these performances happen.
We had 5 soloists:
Sam Watterson: Tenor Saxophone Solo: Outstanding Rating
Noah Fizer: Baritone Saxophone Solo: Outstanding Rating
Andrea Watterson: Flute Solo: Satisfactory Rating
Jack Ewing: Alto Saxophone Solo: Satisfactory Rating
Jonathan Hawthorne: Timpani Solo: Satisfactory Rating
We also had our first small ensemble in over 5 years.
